FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University’s Dane Dmitrovic has been named Red River Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the week for the period of January 14-20. Dmitrovic shared the honor with Texas College’s Jameus Hartsfield.
Dmitrovic, a sophomore forward from Vrhnika, Slovenia, notched a career-high for points and a double-double as the Rams won a pair of conference games last week. In an 86-75 victory over Paul Quinn College (TX) he racked up 20 points and eight rebounds. He then had 16 points and 11 boards to defeat Langston, 64-63. For the week, Dmitrovic made 14-of-24 shots from the field.
Hartsfield, a freshman forward from Marlin, TX, set a school record for rebounds with 27 to go with 14 points in a 119-57 win over Southwestern Assemblies of God University (TX). Against Huston-Tillotson University (Texas), he notched 17 points and 15 boards en route to a 101-91 victory.
After a win at Huston-Tillotson on Monday the Rams stand at 13-6 overall and 6-0 in conference play. They will return to the court on Saturday when they host Wiley College. That game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off at 7:30 p.m. |
