MUSKOGEE, OK: The Texas Wesleyan University baseball team improved to 18-8 on the year and 3-0 in conference play, picking up two wins in a double header against Bacone College (26-6, 0-3 RRAC).

The Rams start off conference play strong as they take it to the Warriors winning 12-4 in game one and 7-6 in game.

The Rams continue to display strong performances at the plate led by Blake Walker and Antoine Cole.

In the top of the 7th inning, the Rams had 6-4 two run lead coming to bat. Ryan Jacobi hit a hard ground ball at the first baseman that netted him an infield single. Walker then hit a home run with two men on base to pick up three RBI. Antoine Cole followed suit with another home run that made the score 10-4 and put the game out of reach for the Warriors.

Steven DeFratus picked up the win in game one going five and a third innings, and Joey Evans produced a save in the game.

In game two, Jerry Fisher and Butch Ballez teamed up for back to back home runs in the top of the sixth.

That chased Bacone’s lefty Zach Wallis out of the game after five innings.

Aaron Wimpee got the no decision giving up for runs in seven innings of work.

Jesse Wright got the win for the Rams as they sweep the Warriors in the opening week of conference play.

The Rams look to stay hot as they take on Oklahoma Christian University in a double-header match up on Tuesday, March 25 at 2:00 pm.
