FINLEY NAMED RRAC P.O.W.

FORT WORTH, TX:  Texas Wesleyan University’s Dalane Finley has been named Red River Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the period of November 5-11.  Finley shared the honor with Texas College’s Czyz Bennett.

Finley, a senior forward from Fort Worth, TX, was 14-of-25 shooting from the field (56.0%) in a 1-1 week, the Rams’ first action of the season.  In a loss to Oklahoma Christian University, he accounted for 17 points and seven rebounds, and then led Texas Wesleyan to a 100-68 win over Parker College with 22 points and seven boards.  Finley made 11-of-12 free throw attempts in the two games.

Bennett, a junior guard from Galveston, TX, averaged 23.3 points per game in a 2-1 week for the Steers.

The Rams return to action this weekend when they travel to Sterling, KS, to take part in the Warrior Classic.  They will take on the host team, Sterling College, at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, and will then play Tabor College at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
