RAMS TAKE WIN ON THE ROAD |

STERLING, KS: The Texas Wesleyan University men’s basketball team (2-1) took a 65-61 win over Sterling College (1-3) in their opening game of this weekend’s Warrior Classic.
The Rams led 28-14 at halftime after holding the Warriors to just 19% (5-of-27) shooting from the floor.
That did not hold up in the second half as Sterling busted loose for 62% on 16-of-26 shooting from the floor.
“We played pretty well in the first half,” said head coach Terry Waldrop. “This was a hard fought victory on the road, and we had to play pretty hard at the end.
The Rams did not help themselves by turning the ball over 22 times, but they did dominate the glass, taking a 43-26 advantage in rebounding.
Kennith Gober led the way with 15 points. Dalane Finley added 13, while Dane Dmitrovic finished with 10 of his own.
The Rams will return to the court on Saturday, when they take on Tabor College in the Warrior Classic. That contest is set for a 4:00 p.m. tip-off. |
