GOBER NAMED RRAC P.O.W.
December 18, 2007

FORT WORTH, TX:  Texas Wesleyan University’s Kennith Gober has been named Red River Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the period of December 10-16.  Gober shared the award with Corey Craft of Jarvis Christian College.

Gober, a junior guard from Waxahachie, TX, posted double-figures in scoring in each last week as the Rams won two of three games.  He scored 20 as Texas Wesleyan defeated Oklahoma Wesleyan University, 72-68, and added 19 as the Rams sank Belhaven College (MS), 79-72. Gober also chipped in 16 in a loss to Louisiana State University-Shreveport on Saturday.  For the week, he was 14-of-36 from field goal range (38.9%) and 21-of-26 from the free throw line (80.8%).

Craft, a senior center from Houston, TX, paved the way to a 78-71 Bulldogs victory over Huston-Tillotson University (TX) in their first conference game of the season. He posted a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds for the game on 10-of-15 shooting from the field. JCC is 6-2 on the season.

Gober, who is the third Ram to receive the award this season, added 20 points in a 92-61 blow out of Wesley College on Monday, as Texas Wesleyan improved to 7-4 on the season.  The Rams will return to action on Wednesday, December 19, when they travel to San Antonio, TX, for an exhibition contest with the UT-San Antonio Roadrunners.  That game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
