#4 BISON BRUISE RAMS
December 29, 2007

Box Score

SHAWNEE, OK:  The Texas Wesleyan University men’s basketball team (7-5) suffered a 68-46 loss at fourth ranked Oklahoma Baptist University (11-0) on Saturday.

In their first game since breaking for Christmas, the Rams started slowly shooting just 25% in the first half.  The Bison used a 10-0 run midway through the period to take control of the contest and led 32-18 at the break.

The Rams picked up the pace in the second half, hitting at a 46% clip; however, they could not overcome Oklahoma Baptist’s domination of the glass.  The Bison held a 46-29 rebounding margin and scored 18 points off of 18 offensive boards.

The Rams hit five three’s, extending their current streak to six games with at least five three-pointers.  However they did not help themselves by shooting 9-of-22 from the free throw line.

A pair of freshmen and a sophomore carried the load for Texas Wesleyan.  Freshman guard Ryan Barnes led the team with 12 points, hitting 4-of-7 shots from the field including 2-of-3 from long range.  Freshman point guard Evan Randall added six assists, and sophomore forward Dane Dmitrovic scored 10 points.

Justin Williams led all scorers with 17 points off the OBU bench, while Brian Hill turned in a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Bison.

The Rams return home on Wednesday, January 2, to take on Southwestern College (KS).  That game is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. tip-off in the Sid Richardson Center.
