FORT WORTH, TX: For the third time this season, Texas Wesleyan University’s Katlynn Romig has been selected as the Red River Athletic Conference Volleyball Libero of the Week. Romig took the award for the period of Sep. 15-21 while UT-Brownsville’s Katie Japp was named Player of the Week and Southwestern Assemblies of God University’s Rachel Brown was named Setter of the Week.
Romig, a freshman defender from Mansfield, TX, racked up 83 digs in a 1-3 week for the Lady Rams. She posted highs of 24 digs and five service aces in a 3-2 victory over Faulkner University (AL) and registered 23 digs in a loss to Oklahoma City University. Romig committed just nine errors in 73 receiving attempts as Texas Wesleyan advanced to 2-15 overall.
The Lady Rams will return to action with a demanding road trip on Saturday, September 27. They will take on Lubbock Christian University in Lubbock, TX, at 4:00 p.m. and Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, TX, at 7:30 p.m. |
