SAN ANTONIO, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University men’s golf team shot a 302 in the final round of St. Mary’s University’s Rattler Invitational and finished fourth.
The University of Texas junior varsity squad finished up with a 293 to hold on to first place at 875. The Longhorns edged Newman University by three strokes. Newman’s Nick May shot 69, 72, 69-210 to take the individual title.
The Rams finished in fourth with a total score of 887. Kevin Doskocil shot a 75 on Tuesday and finished tied for 8th at 217. Armando Villarreal and Drew Koonce (223) tied for 22nd. Johnathon Dickerson (230) tied for 40th and Paco Sarracho (232) tied for 47th.
The Rams return to action October 6-7 at the Grand Canyon Invitational. That tournament will be played at Estrella Mountain Ranch in Phoenix, AZ.
