FORT WORTH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University Volleyball team (3-19) came up short against non conference foe Texas Woman’s University (11-7) losing in three games to one by scores of 20-25, 25-15, 25-22, and 25-21.

The two teams fought back and forth for the lead throughout the match with 17 tied scores and 12 lead changes.

The Lady Rams took game one easily as the Pioneers may have underestimated the young Wesleyan squad and came out flat, producing only 9 kills to the Lady Rams 18.

In the next three games the Lady Rams pushed the Pioneers to the limit but fell just short losing game three by three points and game four by only four points.

Leaders for the Lady Rams included Brittney Person with 12 kills and Katlynn Romig with 38 digs. Kristen Venhuizen and Emily Millican both chalked up a double-double in the match. Venhuizen threw down 16 kills and tallied 13 digs, while Millican gave 37 assists and had 18 digs.

The Lady Rams will travel to Waxahachie, TX, to take on Southwestern Assemblies of God University on Tuesday, October 7. That conference match up set for a 7:00 pm start. Catch the Lady Rams at home on Friday, October 17 as they take on UT-Brownsville at 2:00 pm and Huston-Tillotson University at 6:00 pm at the RRAC Crossover Tournament.
