TEXAS WESLEYAN COMMENCEMENT MAY 11


Nancy Amos, BBA ’77, senior vice president of the Fort Worth Transportation Authority, will deliver the commencement address during Texas Wesleyan University’s spring graduation exercises. Commencement will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, May 11, at the Will Rogers Auditorium, 3401 W. Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth. The precommencement robing ceremony will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Polytechnic United Methodist Church, 1310 S. Collard St., Fort Worth.

Amos received her bachelor of business administration degree in 1977 from Texas Wesleyan, and later earned her master’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington.

 

She has worked in the public arena in Fort Worth since 1980, after a 10-year career with a governmental consulting firm. She is currently the senior vice president of the Fort Worth Transportation Authority, where her responsibilities include marketing, planning, intergovernmental and community relations, employer services, customer service and entrepreneurial efforts. Amos has received several awards and recognitions, including the 2006 Woman of the Year Award by the Dallas Fort Worth Chapter of the Women’s Transportation Seminar and the Linda Keithley Award for Women in Public Management.

 

Amos’ volunteer involvement includes service on Texas Wesleyan University’s Alumni Board, with the American Heart Association, and in a mentor partnership through The T’s Adopt a School with Kirkpatrick Middle School. She is a former chair of the Fort Worth Chamber’s East Area Council and member of its Local Business Development Committee, member of the Fort Worth Chamber’s Foundation Board, and founding member of UTA Fort Worth’s Advisory Council.
