Stuart Martin birdied holes three, four, and five in succession before a bogey on six and a double bogey on seven dropped him to 75 for the day. Paco Saracho also shot a round of 75, while Armando Villarreal shot 82. Region VI flexed its muscle in the tournament. Region VI had the most qualifiers (six) of any region, and all six of those teams finished in the top 13. Oklahoma Christian and Oklahoma City finished second and third overall. Wayland Baptist finished fifth, Texas Wesleyan tenth, Northwood twelfth, and Southern Nazarene thirteenth. “We were fortunate to pass a couple and get into the top ten today,” said head coach Kevin Millikan. “The course was more difficult today, but we managed maybe our best round of the tournament. I’m very proud of Mitch. Finishing 17th was a great way to go out for a senior to go out.” Click here to view the full scores. |
