Personal:

This is my first semester at Texas Wesleyan University, and I love it! I am teaching the bilingual and ESL classes, as well as supervising bilingual interns. I have been in education for over 20 years. I've been a classroom bilingual/ESL teacher, educational specialist, educational researcher for public television, school administrator, and a college and university professor. My research interests include educational issues affecting Latino students: parental involvment, teaching English Language Learners, bilingual/ESL  education, cultural diversity.

In my "spare" time, I love to read and watch movies. I also enjoy all kinds of music--listening, playing the piano or attending concerts. I also love spending time at the beach--any beach will do! Otherwise, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have a 2 1/2 year old son, and 10 year old daughter. Their sporting events, piano lessons, and karate lessons keep me busy. My husband is an engineer, and together we enjoy classic cars and attending NASCAR races, especially at nearby Texas Motor Speedway. He has his favorite drivers, and I even cheer for my favorite, Jeff Gordon!
